Andatu reads One Special Rhino—and loves it!

Beast Relief is pleased to announce that the fifth grade book, One Special Rhino: the Story of Andatu, continues to get coverage in the local press. Brooklyn Parent just published an article about the book, with a great photo of some of the fifth grade writers and artists, here. But most importantly, the book has made it all the way to Indonesia, where it is now being enjoyed—by Andatu himself!

4th Grader Ranked Nationally in Math Kangaroo Contest

PS 107 4th grader Maret Rudin-Aulenbach placed 11th nationally in the international Math Kangaroo math contest held earlier this spring. The contest, with a number of extremely challenging math problems, attracted more than 16,000 US participants this year and millions of students internationally, all digging into the contest on Mar. 20, 2014. Congratulations, Maret!! Stayed tuned for information on other results for our intrepid Math Kangarooers!

PS 107 Shares a Love of Books!

Thank you to everyone who donated books to the Community Outreach spring book drive to benefit PS 81 in Bedford Stuyvesant. Last week, the students at PS 81 selected their summer reading from the generous 107 donations. The fair was a huge success!

      Welcome back! School begins at 8:20 am.
      Kindergarteners will dismiss at 12 noon.
      Grades 1 – 5 will dismiss at the NEW TIME: 2:40 pm!
      There will be a welcome back breakfast for all families after drop-off in the big yard.

    3. Parent/Guardian Curriculum Night

      September 16 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

      The evening replaces the former morning Curriculum Conferences as per the UFT Contract. During the evening you will have an opportunity to meet and speak to just about everyone who works with your child during the school day, from classroom and cluster teachers, to service providers and intervention teachers, to the administrative staff. You will hear about the curricula on your child’s grade and the programs and services your child will or may receive. There is NO ON-SITE CHILD CARE during the evening, so please make private babysitting arrangements. Children should not be brought to the Curriculum Conference.
