Service To others
Service is embedded in our school’s mission. These opportunities are available to our students and families:
Supporting our sister school, PS 169 in Sunset Park, though our parent-run Community Outreach Team.
During the height of the pandemic, PS 107 families fundraised, assembled grocery boxes, and delivered those boxes to families at PS 169 experiencing food insecurity.
Every year, PS 107 families raise funds to purchase a holiday gift for every Kindergarten student at PS 169. 107 families wrap and deliver the gifts to 169.
Every year, PS 107 and PS 169 sponsor a children’s book giveaway for the Sunset Park community. This event is powered by volunteers from both communities.
PS 107 sponsors a coat and winter gear drive for PS 169 families.
PS 107 families purchase school supplies for PS 169 families every fall.
Supporting asylum-seeking families in our community, through our parent-run Community Outreach Team.
PS 107 families raised over $4K in direct assistance, Metrocards, and grocery store gift cards for newly-arrived asylum-seeking families attending neighboring PS124.
PS 107 families donated coats, winter gear, and Halloween costumes to newly-arrived asylum-seeking families.
PS 107 families offer legal and other assistance to newly-arrived asylum-seeking families at PS 124.
PS 107 Kindergarten parents volunteer as Lunch Pals at Kindergarten lunch and recess.
PS 107 5th graders participate in community service, assisting Kindergartners at recess.
Our entire school community regularly comes together whenever there is a need to raise funds and offer support.
